Bengal Sr women beat Mumbai by 75 runs in one-day meet

Riding on a fighting 77 by Priyanka Bala followed by an impressive bowling by Mita Paul (5-25), Bengal senior women’s team outclassed Mumbai by 75 runs in a one-day trophy at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday.
Batting first, Bengal managed to post 187/9 in 50 overs, thanks to a fine knock by Priyanka.
In reply, Mumbai were bundled out for just 112 in 34.5 overs, thanks to Mita, Priyanka Sarkar (2-23), Sukanya Parida (1-14) and Saika Ishaque (1-19).
Earlier, Bengal were in a bit of a pressure at the start of their innings after being reduced to 35/3 in the 11th over.
But Kashish Agarwal (30) stood firm to add some vital runs.
After her dismissal, Priyanka stepped up, playing a fighting knock to take team to a respectable score.
Gouher Sultana (29) also added vital runs at the end.
M Dakshini bagged four wickets for Mumbai.
In reply, Vrushali Bhagat (44), who top-scored for Mumbai, gave the side a good start.
But Bengal bowlers were clinical in taking wickets at regular intervals to reduce Mumbai to 92/5.
Despite the batters putting in their best effort, some outstanding bowling by Bengal girls folded Mumbai's innings for 112.
