Aditya Purohit (169) and Gitimoy Basu (147) batted superbly, smashing centuries each to help Mohammedan Sporting Club post a massive 527/8 in 76 overs against Shibpur Institute at stumps on Day 1 in the CAB 1st Division two-day league cum knockout tournament on Friday.
In the day’s second match, Sudip Rakshit scored a fine 108 to help United Club post 307 in 80.2 overs. Sandeep Yadav bagged five wickets for Aikya Sammilani.
In reply, Aikya Sammilani were 8 for no loss at stumps.
In the day’s third match, Yashovardhan Singh (86) and Chandrahas Dash (74) helped Ballygunge United Club post 274 against Aryan Club.
Parvej Alam (8-105) was impressive with the ball for Aryan Club.
In reply, Aryan Club were 68 for no loss at stumps.
In the day’s fourth match, Dalhousie Athletic Club posted 322/9 in 85 overs against YMCA (College Brunch), thanks to Varun (72) and Vishal Kr Roy (66).
In the day’s fifth match, Belgachia United Club were bowled out for just 122 against Dakshin Kolkata Sansad, thanks to Deepak Yadav (4-15).
In reply, Dakshin Kolkata Sansad were 77/3 at stumps.
In the day’s sixth match, Kidderpore Sporting Club beat Netaji Subhas Institute by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Netaji Subhas Institute were bundled out for 170, thanks to Arun Chaprana (4-33).
In reply, Abhishek Banerjee (77 not out) helped Kidderpore chase the total down easily scoring 173/3 in 30.3 overs.
