Bengal Sr women go down to Rajasthan in one-day meet

Bengal senior women’s team displayed a fighting performance but went down to Rajasthan by 55 runs in a one-day trophy at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur on Saturday.
Batting first, Rajasthan got off to a flying start with openers Jasai Akhter (68) and PB Sharma (55) adding a 109-run opening stand.
But Bengal made a strong comeback into the match picking up wickets at regular intervals to reduce Rajasthan to 146 for 5.
But AK Saini (28) and BN Meena (20) scored handy knocks later in the innings to help team post 206/9 in 50 overs.
For Bengal, Mita Paul bagged two wickets.
In reply, Bengal batters were put to tough test as they had half of their side back in the hut with just 65 on the board inside 25 overs.
Prativa (46) and Kashish Agarwal (32) got off to fine starts but failed to take team over the line as Bengal’s innings folded for just 151 in 43.2 overs.
SS Kalal (3-24) was superb with the ball for Rajasthan.
