Ranjot (173) & Kazi (117) put Bengal
U-25 on top against Punjab

Opener Ranjot Singh Kharia scored a fine 173 along with Kazi Junaid Saifi (117) as Bengal under-25 team were in control at stumps on Day 2 against Punjab in their Col C K Nayudu Trophy on Monday.
After posting a challenging total of 400 in their first innings, thanks to twin centuries, Bengal bowlers too delivered reducing Punjab to 139/2 at the end of the second day at JU Second Campus Ground in Salt Lake.
Earlier, resuming the day from overnight score of 296/2, Ranjot and Kazi managed to add another 74 runs in the morning before Ranjot was dismissed to leave Bengal at 370/3.
Looking to add some quick runs, Bengal middle and lower order suffered a collapse as the remaining seven wickets fell for just 30 runs as their innings folded at 400.
For Punjab, Prerit Dutta (5-64) and Aryaman Dhaliwal (4-86) impressed with the ball.
In reply, Punjab lost both their openers as Pukhraj Mann (58) and Jaskaranvir Singh Paul (36) kept their cool to remain unbeaten at the end of the day's play.
