Hooghly beat Burdwan to emerge CAB
Sr Inter District champions

Hooghly put up a superb all-round performance to outclass Burdwan by five wickets in the final to emerge champions in the CAB Senior Inter District tournament on Saturday.
Batting first, Burdwan managed to post 216/9 in 45 overs, thanks to Aishik Patel (78).
In reply, riding on fine half-centuries by Sonu Narayan (74) and Sachin Kr Yadav (51), Hooghly chased the target down easily scoring 222/5 in 43 overs.
Earlier, put into bat, Burdwan trying to scoring some quick runs lost couple of key batsmen thus reducing them to 46/3 inside 14 overs.
From there on, Aishik along with Mohit Roy (39) held the innings firmly to add a much-needed 88-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
But after the dismissal of Mohit, Arikta Das (36) came in to play a handy knock while Aishik continued playing his natural game to pile on some crucial runs for his side.
But Hooghly made a comeback into the game picking up quick wickets to reduce Burdwan to 208/7.
Paramjit Singh (25 not out) finished off the innings well to put up respectable total on the board for Burdwan.
For Hooghly, Sachin impressed with the ball claiming two wickets.
Chasing the target, Hooghly began their innings positively with openers Dipayan Roy (34) and Shreyansh Ghosh (12) smashing it to all parts.
Burdwan, however, got their first breakthrough dismissing Shreyansh in the seventh over to leave Hooghly at 33/1.
Burdwan although got their second wicket in the 13th over, but the side failed to capitalize on it as Sonu and Sachin combined well to gather a fantastic 121-run partnership for the third wicket to take the game away from the opposition.
