Md. Sporting crowned Women's T20 Blast champions

Riding on a fine performance by the bowlers, Mohammedan Sporting Club defeated Mohun Bagan by just 1 run in a high-voltage final to defend their Byju's Bengal Women's T20 Blast crown at the MGR Cricket Academy Ground, Suri, on Wednesday.
Opting to bat, Md. Sporting started the proceedings on a cautions note.
But wickets at regular intervals kept a check on their scoring rate.
But Ankita Barman (40) and Preeti Mandal (20) played sensibly to help team post 115/6 in 20 overs.
For Mohun Bagan, Tithi Das and Debalina Samanta claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Mohun Bagan dealt an early blow when opener Samayita Adhikari was dismissed with team's score at 4.
From there on, Dhara Gujjar (29) and Priyanka Bala (53) played positively.
But after the dismissal of Dhara, wickets fell in clusters as the team fell short of the total scoring 114/6 in 20 overs. Preeti, Priya Pandey and Sanjana Kumari Das impressed with the ball picking one wicket each for Md. Sporting.
