Ishan wants to keep focussed
16th December 2022
Bengal pacer Ishan Porel would like to keep the focus on and continue his streak into the next matches.
Ishan, who fought bouts of illness to make a comeback, returned with match figures of 7 for 105 said this was the beginning of a long journey.
"The wickets are the outcome. I am happy with the process. I worked on my fitness. The team management was of great help. The two first class matches also gave me confidence," Ishan said.
Ishan picked four wickets in a match against Kalighat in the CAB First Division Group A league as he worked on his rhythm and form. The fact that the first class season began as early as November also helped the players prepare for the BCCI domestic season.
Talking about this match, he said: "The first day, the first few overs I was nervous. I had butterflies in my stomach. But after that once I got the wickets it became easy."
Asked about the top two wickets he said, "Dismissing skipper Karan Sharma was special. I bowled a couple of away going deliveries before sneaking one in. He left the ball and was bowled. In the second innings getting Priyam Garg out for no score was crucial as he was in fine form."
Ishan got the Man of the Match award as Bengal won by six wickets against Uttar Pradesh.
