Bhawanipore win big in CAB 1st Division match

Defending champions Bhawanipore Club displayed an all-round performance to outclass Barisha Sporting Club by an innings and 104 runs in the CAB First Division League Group A match at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani on Friday.
Bhawanipore posted 455/6 in their first innings, thanks to twin centuries by Sandipan Das (156) and Aamir Gani (105 not out).
In reply, Barisha Sporting, in their second innings, were bundled out for just 109 after scoring 242 in their first innings.
Pradipta Pramanik (5-36) and Ravi Kant Singh (4-27) were the star bowlers for Bhawanipore on the third and final day.
In the day's second match at the Aditya Academy in Barasat, Paikpara Sporting Club defeated Police Athletic Club by 10 wickets.
Resuming the final day from overnight score of 19/1, Police Athletic managed to add just 107 runs and were bundled out for 126 in their second innings thus handing a 53-run target to Paikpara Sporting.
Rohit Dua (4-33) was the star with the ball for Paikpara claiming four wickets.
In reply, Paikpara chased it down in 8.5 overs without losing a wicket.
In the day’s third match at the SP School Ground in Kolkata, Town Club won on virtue of first innings lead after their match against Kalighat Club was drawn.
Kalighat were bowled out for 429 in their first innings after Town Club amassed 562/6 in their first.
Raxlee Taylor (110) was the star batter for Kalighat on the final day.
Kalighat in their second innings were 102/2 at stumps.
In the day's fourth match at JU 2nd Campus Ground in Salt Lake, Mohun Bagan won on virtue of first innings lead after their match against East Bengal was drawn.
East Bengal managed to score 225/9 in their first innings after Mohun Bagan posted 382/9 in their first.
Following on, East Bengal, in their second innings, reached 175/3 at stumps.
In the day's fifth match at Deshbandhu Park Ground in Kolkata, Tapan Memorial Club won on virtue of first innings lead after their match against Calcutta Customs Club was drawn.
Calcutta Customs were bowled out for 167 in their first innings. In reply, Tapan Memorial scored 231 in their first.
On the final day, Calcutta Customs, in their second innings, posted 328/9 while Tapan Memorial reached 17/2 at stumps.
