Sandeep unbeaten 219 puts Town Club on top

Sandeep Tomar smashed a fantastic unbeaten double century as Town Club scored a massive 562/6 against Kalighat Club in the CAB First Division League Group A match at the SP School Ground in Kolkata on Thursday.
Enroute his 219 runs, Sandeep struck 24 fours and 6 sixes. He was well supported in the other end by Suvankar Bal (159).
Pritam Chakraborty (3-81) was the pick of the bowlers for Kalighat.
In reply, Kalighat reached 199/2 at stumps on Day 2, courtesy of a fine 97 by Abhishek Bose.
In the day's second match at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani, defending champions Bhowanipore Club scored 362/5 at stumps against Barisha Sporting Club.
Resuming the day from overnight score of 22 for no loss, Bhowanipore played positively as Sandipan Das batted remained unbeaten on 131 along with Aamir Gani (62 not out) at the end of day's play.
Barisha Sporting were earlier bowled out for 242 in their first innings.
In the day's third match at the Aditya Academy in Barasat, Police Athletic Club trail by 55 runs in their second innings against Paikpara Sporting Club at the end of day's play.
Earlier resuming the day at 48/4, Paikpara, in the first innings, managed to post 284 in reply to Police Athletic's first innings score of 210.
Paikpara's Poonish Mehta scored a superb unbeaten 137 runs off 176 balls.
Police Athletic were 19/1 at stumps.
In the day's fourth match at JU 2nd Campus Ground in Salt Lake, East Bengal trail by 235 runs in their first innings against Mohun Bagan.
East Bengal managed to reach 147/6 at stumps in reply to Mohun Bagan's first innings score of 382/9.
East Bengal's Sayan Sekhar Mandal (44 not out) remained unbeaten at the end of day's play.
Ayan Bhattacharya (3-27) and Rajkumar Pal (3-31) were the pick of the bowlers for Mohun Bagan.
In the day's fifth match at Deshbandhu Park Ground in Kolkata, Calcutta Customs Club lead by 36 runs in their second innings against Tapan Memorial Club.
Tapan Memorial managed to post 231 in reply to Calcutta Customs' first innings score of 167.
In their second innings, Calcutta Customs were 100/1 at stumps.
