Bengal U-25 men beat Arunachal by 10 wickets

29th November 2022
Bengal displayed an all-round performance to beat Arunachal Pradesh by 10 wickets in the men's Under-25 State A One-Day Trophy at the Gurugram Cricket Ground in Sultanpur, UP, on Tuesday.
Opting to bat, Arunachal got off to a positive start with openers Leki Tsering (35) and Magung (24) scoring freely.
But Bengal looking for the much-needed breakthrough finally got one in the 9th over when Debopratim Halder dismissed Magung. Kaushik Maity also got rid of Leki to send both the openers back in the hut with their score at 73.
From there on it was a clear one way traffic as wickets at regular intervals saw Arunachal being bundled out for just 127 in 43 overs.
Kaushik (5-25) was the star bowler picking up five wickets. He was well supported by Amrit Raj Upadhyay (3-21).
In reply, Bengal openers Shakir Habib Gandhi (74 not out) and Kazi Junaid Saifi (34 not out) smashed the Arunachal bowlers to all parts of the ground, thus chasing the target comfortably scoring 128 for no loss in 10.5 overs.
