Sumanta double ton helps Barisha win big

Riding on a fantastic double century by Sumanta Gupta, Barisha Sporting Club outclassed Paikpara Sporting Club by an innings and 150 runs in their CAB First Division League Group A match at the Deshbandhu Park Ground, Kolkata on Tuesday.
Resuming the day from overnight score of 332/4, Barisha posted a mammoth 559/5 thus bagging a 343-run first innings lead.
Sumanta scored a match-winning 211 off 201 balls, which included 33 boundaries and three sixes.
In reply, Paikpara, in their second innings, lost wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for 193, thanks to a fine bowling effort by Ankit Mishra (4-48), Salvi Piyush (3-77) and Anurag Tiwari (2-17).
In the day’s second match at the Bengal Cricket Academy in Kalyani, defending Champions Bhowanipore Club beat Shambazar Club by nine wickets.
Resuming the day from 115/3 in their second innings, Shambazar wickets tumbled as they were dismissed for 166 to hand a 73-run target to Bhowanipore.
Balkesh Yadav (6-28) was the star bowler for Bhowanipore.
Bhowanipore chased it down scoring 73/1 in 17 overs.
In the day's third match in Barasat, Kalighat Club won on virtue of their first innings lead against Police Athletic Club.
Resuming the day from 157/7 in their first innings, Police Athletic managed to reach 162/9 against Kalighat's first innings total of 452/7.
Kalighat, in their second innings posted 100/3 decl.
While Police Athletic managed to score 49 for no loss at stumps on the final day.
