Aftab's seven keeps Bengal U19 in the hunt

Irfan Aftab's seven for kept Bengal in the hunt as Tripura posted a challenging total of 322 of Under-19 cricket championship for Cooch Behar Trophy at the Bengal Cricket Academy Ground in Kalyani on Sunday.
In reply Bengal reached 82/2 at stumps on Day 2. The highlight reel of the day was the disciplined bowling by Bengal pacer Sayed Irfan Aftab (7-84) who claimed an impressive seven-wicket haul. He bowled with discipline and imagination to trouble Tripura all through the innings. Milind Mondal (1-44) and Yudhajit Guha (1-55) chipped in with a wicket each.
Earlier, resuming the day on 195/6, Tripura opener Deepjoy Deb brought up his century, scoring 120 off 327 balls, with 13 fours and one six.
He was well supported by Debraj Dey ( 80) that helped the team cross the 300-run mark.
In reply to Tripura’s total, Bengal lost opener Sayan Dey (5) followed by Chandrahas Dash (10) cheaply.
But Sumit Nag (35 not out) and Shashank Singh (26 not out) kept their cool and sensibly ended the day with a lot to be done on the third day.
