Bengal beat Chattisgarh by 53 runs

Bengal continued their fine run in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy meet as they beat Chattisgarh by 53 runs.
Batting first Bengal scored a respectable 161 for five with Shahbaz scoring another fluent 48 not out off 28 balls, while skipper A R Easwaran (33 off 27 balls) and Ritwik Roy Chowdhury scoring (31 off 22 balls) gave the innings the required momentum.
Bengal Coach L R Shukla said: “It is a process. Winning is a habit. Today’s match is over. We have to concentrate on the next match. We are playing as a team and the players are backing each other to bring out the best.”
In reply Chattisgarh was bowled out for 108 in 18.5 overs. Pradipta Pramanik made his overs count as he broke the back of the Chattisgarh innings returning with figures of 4 for 13 from three overs. Two wickets each by Shahbaz and Akash Deep completed the rout.
