Bengal win big against Sikkim

18th October 2022
Bengal registered their third win on a trot defeating Sikkim by 84 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali meet in Lucknow.
"This was a good match. Everyone contributed. The players are in a good mental space. The balance in the side is good. We have two matches coming against Chattisgarh and Chandigarh. Good teams. But if we continue to play good cricket we shall go to the next stage," said Coach L R Shukla.
Batting first Bengal reached a challenging 179 for 6 thanks to some fine batting display by Sudip Gharami who scored 53 off just 43 balls and put on 69 runs for the fourth wicket with Shahbaz. Sikkim could not pose a threat finishing at 85 for nine in their alloted quota.
Allrounder Shahbaz continued his purple patch with another exciting 43 off just 33 balls. The Bengal innings was propped up by Agniv Pan in the end with a quickfire 34 off just 12 deliveries studded with four giant sixes.
Sikkim lost their wickets at regular intervals as all Bengal bowlers except Mukesh Kumar got success.
