Bengal beat Orissa by 8 wickets

The Senior Bengal Team registered a convincing 8-wicket win against Odisha in their second match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow after the first match was abandoned due to rain.
The team's collective bowling performance helped to restrict the opposition to a paltry 86, which Team Bengal chased it down in less than 15 overs, losing just 2 wickets.
Coach L R Shukla said:
"Every victory is special, but there is no place for complacency. I have told my boys to play hard and give their best. I have never given too much thought to the opposition during my playing days. It is no different now. I have asked my team to look out for each other and play as a unit. The rest will happen."
Mukesh Kumar struck the Orissa lineup in the very first over of the innings. The bowling unit sent half the OCA team back to the pavilion in less than 25 runs. Mukesh and Writtick B. Chatterjee took 3 wickets each, Ranjit Singh struck with two wickets, whereas Akash Deep and Pradipta Paramanik returned with 1 each.
Captain A. R. Easwaran's 37 run not-out, and Sudip Kumar Gharami's 29 of 35 gave the team a solid start after Ranjot Singh went for a duck. Abhishek Porel's 20 off 14 balls took the team past the target with 33 balls to spare. The team will face Tamil Nadu on Sunday, on the same ground.
Bengal had three debutant in Ranjot Singh Khaira, Sudip Gharami and Abhishek Porel.
