Food Corporation of India and Income Tax Sports & Recreation Club snatched a narrow victories in their respective matches in Inter Office Cricket League cum knockout tournament to enter the semifinals today at Eden Gardens.
Income Tax registered 2-run victory against AG West Bengal after their skipper Abhishek Das hit a blistering 82 batting first while in the other high-scoring affair both teams scores 200-plus as Food Corporation of India defeated Metro Railway by 3 runs.
Batting first FCI posted a challenging 211/5 in 25 overs as Sudip Gharami (90) and Toufiq Uddin Mondal (70) hit fluent fifties.
Their opponents put up a strong fight through Vivek Singh 76 and Arindam Ghose 40 but fell short off 3 runs.
