Durgesh restricts Bagan

Bhawanipur pacer Durgesh Dubey tore apart Mohun Bagan top-order by sending back 4 experienced batters and restricted opponents to 227/7 at the end of the first day's play in First Division Qualifier Championship semifinal game today at Eden Gardens.
Put to bat first Abhimanyu Easwaran opening the innings for Bagan made a fluent 70 while wickets kept falling at the other end. Prinann Dutta (30), Sudip Chatterjee went back on Durgesh's consecutive deliveries while Anustup Majumder (5), Gotimoy Basu also became his victim later.
Alok Pratap Singh of Bhawanipur took 2 before Bagan wicket-keeper Vivek Singh played a solid 63 not out to steady the ship and take maidan giants to 227/7. Subham Sarkar added crucial 35 runs at the end.
In another high-voltage semifinal match Kalighat Club rode on Shreyansh and Writam Porel half-centuries as they posted 234/5 against East Bengal at the end of the day's play.
Kalighat got off to a shaky start as EB bowler Ishan Porel took 2 wickets early to reduce opponents to 11/2.
However Shreyansh (81) and Writam (52) built the innings with patience followed by crucial knocks from Subham Chatterjee (43) and Ravikanth Shukla (38*) to post a challenging total.
