Fiery Amit keeps YMCA in check

Amit Banerjee once again rose to the occasion to help Shibpur Institute bundle YMCA (Chow Br) for 255 runs in the CAB Second Division Championship final with a fiery six-for today at Eden Gardens.
Shibpur, who won the toss and elected to bowl first did well to rattle YMCA top order and reduce them to 112/5.
Amit picked up 6 wickets leaking just 75 runs as he became the current highest wicket-taker with 22 wickets under his belt.
Avishek Das and Pratik Dutta showed grit and composure to rescue YMCA from that position with crucial half-centuries.
Avishek remained unbeaten on 85 while Pratik scored 90 to add 134 runs off the sixth wicket and take YMCA to 255.
While chasing Shibpur lost Raja Yadav (10) early as they ended the day on 42/1 with Mithun Dutta (24) and Yogesh Kumar (2) unbeaten.
In First Division Qualifier Championship quarterfinal match Shreyansh Ghosh slammed unbeaten 100 as Kalighat ended the first day on 281/3 against Police AC.
