Soumyajit Mondal scored a whirlwind 49-ball 125 as National High School made 400-plus batting first and later dismantled opponents St. Lawrence High school for just 44 runs tp register a huge 360-run victory in Mayor's Cup today.
Electing to bat first National openers Gourav Singh (81) and Mukesh Sah (94) gave them a solid start followed by Soumyajit's blistering innings. Soumyajit smashed 11 sixes and 9 boundaries en route to his unbeaten century to take National to 404/3.
In reply St. Lawrence wilted for 44 runs Priyanshu bagged 4 wickets while Soumyajit, Mitul and Sinchan Rakshit took 2 wickets each.
In another match Sparsh Mimani's fiery six-wicket haul earned La Martinere for Boys full points in an one-sided affair with 10-wicket win.
Sparsh took 6 leaking just 3 runs to bundle Don Bosco school (Liluah) for 92 runs and later chased it down in just 8.3 overs without losing any wicket.
Amrit Krroy guided National James HS to victory with a fluent 135 to successfully chase down 253-run target set by St. Xaviers Collegiate School. Earlier Ambhuj Kr Singh starred with the ball for National James with a four-for.
