Bengal Women’s team continue to shine

A disciplined bowling performance saw Bengal women’s team make it two wins in-a-row after defeating Mizoram by 39 runs in the second T20 practice game today in Birbhum.
Mizoram won the toss and put Bengal to bat first. Bengal were reduced to 19/2 in 3 overs while skipper Kashish Agarwal (20) and Ankita Barman (26) played gritty knocks to steady the ship and laid foundation for a fighting total.
Lower order batters Jhumpa Roy (13*) and Priyanka Sarkar (10*) added crucial runs to take Bengal to 108/7. Mizoram’s Sangsangi Ngurte took 2 wickets, highest for her team.
While defending a low total Priyanka drew the first blood removing opponent’s opener Shweta Jadav in the first ball and Mizoram kept losing wickets to get reduced to 16/4.
Skipper Kashish starred with ball too bagging 2 for 14 and Ananya Halder, Sasthi Mondal picked one wicket each to restrict Mizoram to 69/8.
