Kalighat dominate Sporting Union

After an excellent batting by Abhimanyu Eashwaran (248) that took Kalighat to 663 for 7 in 115 over, the bowlers kept the pressure going, reducing Sporting Union to 183 for 6 in 51 overs in a first division match today.
On the other hand, Md. Sporting took control over East Bengal by finishing first innings at 575 for 9, against East Bengal's 206 last day. With one day of play left now, East Bengal batters need to play a steady role, when they come to bat tomorrow in the second essay.
In few other matches, while Aryan Club posted 563 for 7 in 115 over, Kolkata Union Sporting finished full quota at 533 for 9.
Players who hit centuries in other matches played across the Maidan were, Dip Chatterjee(164), Avinaba Dikshit(160*), Aamir Hussain(141), Tirtha Roy(132), Nikhil Singh(129*), Ansool Kapur(113), Nityananda Majhi(112*), Anubhab Ahuja(104) and Sudip Chatterjee(100).
The match that started a day before, went down to a draw between Netaji Subhas Institute and Kolkata Union Sporting Club, with the teams shearing 2 and 4 points respectively.
In the second division league matches, Satya Sandhi beat Star Sporting by 8 wickets.
Among the bowlers here, Bijoy Kumar Tanti and Pulak Majumder took 6 wickets each, while Ravi Kumar Gupta and Abhishek Pandey bagged 5 each.
In the CAB Junior knockout tournament, Taltala Institute beat White Border Club by 6 wickets. In another match, Bata Sports Club won against Bengal Sporting by 26 runs.
Those scoring centuries in this format of the tournament were, Arnab Sikdar(134), Souptik Biswas(107) And Subhadeep Barman(100).
Among the bowlers, Jayesh Kumar Singh and Krishnendu Guha took 5 wickets each while Subhasish Das and Saran Oraon bagged 3 wickets each.
