NCC Inter Office Cricket tournament kicks off

NCC Inter Office Cricket League-cum-Knockout Tournament today kicked off to a rolicking start at Eden Gardens with CESC winning the opening tie against Ordnance Factory Dumdum.
Matches also simultaneously began at P&T ground.
Batters helped CESC take full points against Ordnance factory Dumdum in tournament opener today at Eden Gardens while Geological Survey thrashed Coal India by 9 wickets in the next one.
Sreevats Goswami was the highest-scorer for CESC with a fluent 51 containing 2 sixea and 4 boundaries. Other CESC batters contributed Sounak Das (44), Rana Chowdhury (42) and Abhijeet Ganguly (47) added crucial runs.
Rituraj Debnath with unbeaten 54 off just 29 balls was the match-winner for Geological Survey.
At P&T ground West Bengal State Electricity Board batters Hirak Sengupta (49*) and Subhojit Banerjee (58*) kept opponents Rifle factory SC bowlers at the bay during 123-run target chase to register a huge 10-wicket victory. Ajay Garai of WBSEB picked up 3 wickets.
In the other match Bank of India did not turn up as opponents Akashbani Doordarshan were awarded with full points.
