Customs bury YMCA under pile of runs

Calcutta Customs excerted their domination over YMCA (Coll. Br) in both departments as they posted 664/6 batting first and later reduced opponents to 125/6 to end the second day of CAB first division qualifier championship with 540-run lead today.
Uddipan (153) and Abhishek Gupta (176) centuries helped Customs pile up a mammoth total. Parvej Alam of United Club and Rajasthan Club's Arjun Kumar starred with ball taking 6 and 5 wickets respectively to help their teams win.
United Club defeated Ballygunge United by 113 runs while Rajasthan registered a 84-run win over Indian Boys Athletic Club.
In another first division match Anandabazar SC posted 428/9 thanks to Dibyendu Chakraborty's 115 while opponents' Aikya Sammilani bowler Rohan Rawat picked up 6 wickets.
In CAB second division bowlers won the game for Victoria Sporting against Cossipore Club while in a powerful batting display Narkeldanga Sir Gooroodas Institute thrashed Calcutta Parsee Club by 9 wickets.
Chasing a target of 370 runs NSGI batters Sayan Maity (168) and Dipayan Biswas (133*) won the match comfortably for their team and Victoria Sporting bowlers Akash Singh and Shree Ganeshan bagged 5 wickets apiece to floor Cossipore batting lineup.
In other matches Gymkhana secured a narrow 1-wicket victory over White Border, Satya Sandhi rode on Tamal Kanti Chakraborty five-for to beat Friends Athletic, Balak Sangha beat Sahapur Sporting by 43 runs as Arijit Majumder ton went in vain and Aurora Athletic, Abasar, Sarat Samity were also victorious.
