Gritty Sumanta earn Barisha 3 points;
Sujit bags 7 wickets for Town

After being enforced follow-on and losing 3 quick wickets for just 39 runs in the second innings it was Barisha Sporting batter Sumanta Gupta who batted with grit and determination to not only score a match-saving 103 but also snatch 3 points against maidan giants East Bengal in CAB first division league today.
Chasing 282-run target set by EB in the first innings Barisha were bundled for 124 at first and later were reduced to 100/5 on the final day. Sumanta along with Sayan Kumar (63) salvaged a draw for Barisha while EB bowler Prabhat Maurya took 5 wickets.
Town Club took 10 points after beating Shambazar by an innings and 68 runs thanks to fiery 7-wicket haul by Sujit Kumar Yadav. Another dominating batting performance saw Bhowanipore take 7 points by the virtue of first innings lead thanks to Koushik Ghosh (176) and Abhishek Raman (111) tons chasing a mammoth 545/8 posted by Mohun Bagan. Bhowanipore made 571/4 in the first innings.
George Telegraph and Paikpara Sporting took 7 points from their respective games. Aryan’s PriyanK Bagnani scored unbeaten 100 against George today.
In group B&C matches Calcutta Police won in one day against Eastern Railway Sports Association by 9 wickets, Abhishek Mitra slammed 129 as Kalighat piled up 461/5 against Dakshin Kolkata Sansad and Calcutta Port Trust posted 359/9 against Ballygunge United Club.
Ballugunge Sporting Association registered a comfortable 8-wicket victory in one day after buncling out Star Sporting for 90 runs in second division league. Gymakhana batters Hamza Ali (149) and Victor Upadhaya (119) centuries amassed 429/7 against Abasar while natonal Athletic defeated Cossipore by 8 wickets as Umesh yadav took 6 for 17 runs.
