Bengal in driver's seat thanks to
Abhishek, Mukesh

Abhishek Porel continuing superb form in the tournament scored his second Ranji trophy half-century to take Bengal to 242 while pacer Mukesh Kumar took two quick wickets in 9 overs Baroda batted today.
Put to bat Hyderabad lost Akshat Reddy, Tilak Verma before they could open their accounts as Mukesh breathed fire to reduce opponents to 15/2 as Bengal lead by 227 runs.
Youngster Abhishek said: "I tried to stay positive, played with positive intent and tried to perform what I have practiced so far. Disappointed to not make it bigger for my team, miscued the delivery. There was no extra pressure. I was confident, in the last match also have done the same job while coming to bat late."
Batting first Bengal got off to a shaky start losing skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sudip Gharami early tp get reduced to 24/2.
Ritwik Roy Chowdhury (33), Sayan Sekhar Mondal (34) and Anustup Majumder (29) provided initial stability to the side, failed to convert their innings into a bigger one though.
Shahbaz Ahamad and Abhishek were once again tested in time of crisis as the duo stitched a 74-run partnership off the seventh wicket.
Shahbaz went back scoring 40, while Abhsihek batted on along with Akash Deep (13) before being clraned up by Ravi Teja on 73.
Tanay Thyagarajan was in red-hot form for Hyderabad with a five-for.
