Seth's five-for puts Baroda in driver's seat
18th February 2022
Baroda bolwer Atit Seth bagged 5 wickets to earn advantage for his team against Bengal at the end of the second day's play in Ranji trophy today at Cuttack.
Bengal resuming the day on 24/1 having restricted Baroda to 181 all out in the first innings, were bundled out for 88 as Seth and Lukman Meriwala shared 8 wickets between them.
Bengal head coach Arun Lal said: "We just have to bat very well right now. There's no other way, we need to fight back and remember that otherwise we'll lose the match as there's only 2 days left. It is doable, as the wicket is behaving it is very much doable."
"Our experienced batter Anustup's decision was doubtful but again it happens in cricket. No excuses. Baroda bowlers were efficient, they bowled well but not unplayable and certainly not to get Bengal out for 88,"
Put to bat again Baroda finished the second day on 144/5 as Ishan Porel took 2 wickets for Bengal.
