Red ball cricket resumes in local league

CAB First and second Division tournament league resumed today after long hault due to Covid19 and Kalighat won their opener against YMCA (Coll Br) by 10 wickets thanks to Pritam Chakraborty's 6-wicket haul in group B&C matches while Shreyan Chakraborty bagged four-for for East Bengal in group A matches today.
Pritam bagged 6 for 26 to bundle YMCA for 67 runs which was easily chased down by Kalighat. East Bengal bundled Shambazar for 171 runs and ended the day on 81/3. Another group A match Sougata Dutta (69) and Abhijeet Bhagat (81) half-centuries powered Town to 296/5 against Tapan Memorial.
In group B&C matches United Club posted a mammoth 445/5 at the end of the day's play against Kidderpore Sporting and highest run-getter was Parth Palawat (152*), Parmit Singh hit a fluent 164 for IABC against Calcutta Port Trust to post 375/9 and another centurion of the day was Md Meraj Alam (137*) for Bhukailash Sporting.
In second division league City Ac bowler Jeet Thakur picked up 5-wicket haul, Nishant Dave smashed 113 to post 412/7 and Measurers Club Aditya Dutta bagged 5 wickets in their respective matches.
