CAB to organise free medical camp for
31st December 2021
The Cricket Association of Bengal reiterating it's commitment towards the well-being of the players and people associated with the game, is going to organise a Health check-up camp in association with Narayana Health from 3-5 January.
CAB President Avishek Dalmiya said: "All the cricketers who play for Bengal, committee members, umpires, scorers, observers and other important stakeholders are going to get their health checkup done at this camp. It was the desire of Honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal earlier that there should be health checkup of all the players and that process has been initiated."
"Before start of a season it's important for the players to get their health checkup done to avoid any kind of sudden problem on or off the field. We have seen some unfortunate events occurring in recent times and with this camp we are working to avoid the same, to take precautions if needed. I thank Narayana Health for joining hands with us for this important cause," said Snehasish Ganguly, Hony. Secretary CAB.
Current all Bengal squads (men's & women's) including their support staff members, former national players and office bearers, current committee members and Apex council members are going to get their health checkup done at the camp at feee of cost.
"We have always been committed towards ensuring our players and people associated are in best shape possible and healthy. Under the guidance of our President and other office bearers we have been able to successfully host a free of cost medical camp at Eden Gardens for the betterment of all. This three-day camp will help them to get checked and keep a track of their health for a healthier future," said Pradip Kr Dey, Medical committee chairman.
5 important tests- Bone mineral density test, Pulmonary function tets, Haemoglobin test, Body mass index and ECG followed by doctor's consultation will be available at the camp.
Players' benevolent and benefit fund committee chairman Santanu Mitra said: "It was always in our desire to provide health checkup to our players, former national cricketers and other important stakeholders for the betterment of the game and a healthier tomorrow. We, gudied by CAB President and office bearers have been committed towards safety of the players and these 5 tests will help to take precautions and avoid any sudden unfortunate health hazard. It is our aim to organise these kind of camps frequently in coming future and include more people."
Registration at the camp is scheduled to start from 9:30 am followed by tests and consultation.
