Sandipan's all-round show helps North 24 Pgs win
Inter District T20 tournament

North 24 Pgs Champs rode on their skipper Sandipan Das' all-round brilliance along with brilliant bowling display by the bowlers to win Byju's Bengal Inter District T20 tournament beating Nadia Super Dazzler by 27 runs today at BCA Kalyani.
CAB President Avishek Dalmiya, Secretary Snehasish Ganguly, Jt secy Debabrata Das and other committee members were in the attendance during the high-voltage Sunday summit.
CAB President said: "We want to give utmost importance to the cricketers from the districts because we want the players to get best of the facilities, best infrastructure that we have so that they can prosper, can come out and play good cricket and thereby have a good future. I think it's very important from an association point of view that more players come up and get adequate spotlight. That is one of the reasons we thought that the tournament should be enhanced and be telecasted. We have seen more than a few lakh viewers fro every game which is very encouraging."
"In future we would try to make it more glamorous, make sure that adequate practice is available for each of the players prior to the start of the tournament. Tournaments like this are very important for the cricketers because they get the required exposure. There are many more tournaments for the districts that we intend to organize this season, so there's much more to look forward to," he concluded.
North won the toss and elected to bat first. Sandipan hit 29-ball 41 and Prosenjit Kumar continued his good form with fluent 46 to help North post 147/7 in their quota of overs.
Nadia bowler Sanjay Sadhukhan who became the highest wicket-taker of the tournament with 12 wickets, has starred in the final too with a 4-wicket haul.
CAB Secretary Snehasish Ganguly said: "This is a very important tournament for us as we have many talented players coming up from various districts and play good cricket. We have tried to conduct the tournament with enhanced facilities, to provide great atmosphere, ground for the tournament. Congratulations to the champions."
North 24 Pgs all-rounder Dipanjan Mukherjee hit a crucial 9-ball 22 containing 2 sixes and one boundary.
While chasing Nadia lost two wickets for 12 runs while Suprodip Debnath fought a lone battle with 46 off 39 balls.
North bowler Raju Halder bowled exceptionally well with 3 wickets from 4 overs leaking just 8 runs and skipper Sandipan took 2 to restrict Nadia to 122/9.
