Bengal take on Baroda in Vijay Hazare
opener

7th December 2021
Bengal under the captaincy of Sudip Chatterjee would start their Vijay Hazare trophy campaign against Baroda tomorrow at Trivandrum.
Bengal team has played good cricket recently, reached Syed Mushtaq Ali knockouts before losing the quarterfinals by super over against Karnataka.
Bengal head coach Arun Lal said: "We are going into a different tournament, a different format of the game that we haven't played in a long time. We have prepared well for this. I think we have a well balanced team. We are relying on Anustup, Sudip, Sreevats to hold the team together with their vast experience"
"The wicket's bit difficult to understand because no match has been okayed in this wicket for last two years, not even local matches. It looks okay but how it will behave is a mystery. It might be a 250-run kind of a game tomorrow," he added.
With experienced campaigners Anustup Majumder, Sreevats Goswami in the batting lineup along with in form Sudip Bengal would look to put up a good batting show tomorrow.
Bengal pace attack Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar, Sayan Ghosh have shown their potential while spinners Pradipta Pramanik, Sujit Kr Yadav have bowled well too.
All-rounders have always been an integral part of Bengal team as Shahbaz Ahamad, Writtick, Karan Lal have played pivotal role for the team in both departments. Baroda on the other hand under skipper Kedar Devdhar along with Krunal Pandya in the team are expected to throw tough challenge at Bengal.
