Superb Sudip puts Barrackpore Bashers in final

Sudip Chatterjee continued his fairytale run with the bat in the tournament by hitting a classy 73 not out to power Barrackpore Bashers to a 20-run victory against Kanchenjunga Warriors in Byju's Bengal T20 Challenge semifinal today.
Barrackpore will be locking horns with Kolkata Heroes in the final tomorrow. Put to bat first in the 10 overs per side affair Barrackpore posted a mammoth 129/5 thanks to skipper Sudip, who showed his class to master a crucial 32-ball 73 containing 7 sixes and 4 boundaries in their quota of overs and in reply Kanchenjunga could only manage 109/5.
While chasing Kanchenjunga were reduced to 12/2 losing both openers Anustup Majumder (1) and Sayan Sekhar Mondal (1) cheaply.
Barrackpore duo Suprodip Debnath and Avirup Gupta played well under pressure but their fighting 76-run partnership went in vain at the end. Suprodip made 28-ball 54 (3*4, 4*6) while Avirup remained unbeaten on 48 off 24 deliveries.
Vikash Singh starred with the ball bagging 3 wickets for Kanchenjunga.
Earlier Ankur Paul went back on 15 off Anurag Tiwary as Barrackpore were reduced to 28/1 in the third over. Sudip hit his third consecutive half-century to boost Barrackpore's scoreboard while Barrackpore lost Kaif Ahamed (8), Suvam Dey (1) cheaply.
Vikash Singh showed off his big hitting skill by smashing 3 back-to-back sixes off Mithilesh Das before being removed by Sayan Sekhar Mondal on 21 (7). Abhijit Mal was the highest wicket taker for Kanchenjunga with 2 for 12.
