Gani shines on return to help Kolkata Heroes
beat Krishnanagar Challengers

Playing his first match of the season all-rounder Aamir Gani starred in both departments to power Kolkata Heroes to a 7-wicket victory against Krishnanagar Challengers in Byju's Bengal T20 Challenge today at Eden Gardens.
Electing to bowl first Kolkata bowlers led by Ramesh Prasad's four-for put up a dominating show to bundle Krishnanagar for 133 runs and in reply Gani starred with the bat to help Kolkata register a comfortable win.
After being picked by Kolkata in the mini player draft Gani played his first match this season and scored 36-ball 50 containing 7 boundaries and 1 six while opening the innings, while bolwing picked up 2 wickets leaking 23 runs.
After Gani gave Kolkata a steady strat to the chase skipper Ritwik Roy Chowdhury (28) and Ranjot Singh Khaira (29*) ensured the victory with 10 balls left to play.
Shreyan Chakraborty was the highest wicket taker for Krishnanagar with 2 for 24 including a stunning caught and bowled to dismiss Kolkata skipper.
Earlier Avinash Kumar gave Krishnanagar a brisk start with 13-ball 21 before Geet Puri removed him to choke the runflow.
After that Krishnanagar batters couldn't contribute to as Sk Asif Hussain (9), Ayan Gupta (10), skipper Arnab Nandi (10) and Agniv Pan (13) were removed early to leave them reeling on 85/5.
Koushik Ghosh played a patient 32 off 31 to help Krishnanagar post 133 before being bundled out with 2 balls left to play.
Ramesh picked up 4 wickets leaking 24 runs while Geet and Aamir bagged 2 wickets apiece for Kolkata.
