Kanchenjunga Warriors go top

Kanchenjunga Warriors defeated Kharagpur Blasters by 24 runs (VJD method) to top the table with 7 points from 4 matches in Byju's Bengal T20 Challenge today at Eden Gardens.
The match was reduced to a 13 overs per side affair due to rain. Put to bat first Sumanta Gupta hit unbeaten 47 to power Kanchenjunga to 126/4 in their quota of overs. Kharagpur were given a revised target of 131 runs by VJD method.
In reply Kharagpur scored 106/8 as Mithilesh Das picked up 3 wickets leaking 20 runs to help his team carry on the winning momentum.
Abhimanyu Easwaran making his first appearance in the second edition went back scoring 12 as Anurag Tiwary caught him off Sayan Mondal.
Prayas was promoted up in the batting order. The young all-rounder hit 3 sixes before being removed by Mithilesh Das.
Skipper Kazi Junaid Saifi tried to stay at the wicket with patience while wickets kept falling at the other end.
Kazi scored 39 (30) while no other Kharagpur batter could reach the double digit mark. Kanchenjunga bowlers did a commendable job to make the run chase harder with disciplined bowling.
Sayan bagged 2 for 18 while Subham Sarkar and Dipanjan Mukherjee picked up 1 wicket apiece.
Earlier Sayan Mondal played a quickfire 11-ball 21 run innings to give a brisk start while Sudip Gharami failed to make any noise with the bat.
Md Kaif removed both the openers while Rajkumar Paul sent Avishek Bose back giving him no chance to open account as Kanchenjunga were struggling at 32/3.
Sumanta along with Anustup Majumder steadied the ship with a 50-run partnership. Anustup went back scoring 27 off Prayas Roy Burman.
Avirup Gupta added useful 10-ball 26 crafted with 1 six and 4 boundaries to help Kanchenjunga post a fighting 126/4.
