Ritwik leads Kolkata Heroes to victory
against Barrackpore Bashers

Kolkata Heroes defeated Barrackpore Bashers by 55 runs (VJD method) thanks to skipper Ritwik Roy Chowdhury's whirlwind half-century in Byju's Bengal T20 Challenge match today at Eden Gardens.
It was reduced to 17 overs per-side affair due to rain as the match was halted for 40 minutes. Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat first.
Ritwik played a whirlwind 35-ball 67 not out crafted with 6 sixes and 4 boundaries to help Kolkata amass a fighting total of 154 for the loss of 2 wickets. Barrackpore were given a revised target of 160 runs through VJD method and they were restricted to 104/5 in reply
Kolkata openers Atanu Ghosh (30) and Toufiq Mondal (27) stiched a 47-run partnership to give their team a steady start.
Barrackpore skipper Sudip Chatterjee caught Toufiq off Durgesh Dubey while Sujit Yadav sent Atanu back to reduce Kolkata to 68/2.
After that Ranjot Singh Khaira (27) stayed unbeaten till the end along with Kolkata skipper as he played a blistering knock.
While chasing Alok Pratap Singh bagged the wickets of Barrackpore opener Vikash Singh (6) and Ankur Pal (8) to reduce Barrackpore to 30/2 in this fighting match.
To make things worse captain Sudip had to go back scoring 5 as he was adjudged lbw off Karan Lal while Sourav Paul fought a lone battle with 24-ball 23.
Talented Bengal batter Kaif Ahamed tried to turn things around for his team hitting some big shots but that wasn't enough.
Kaushik Maity sent Kaif back on 29 and Kaushik Giri stayed unbeaten on 29 till the end as Barrackpore could only manage to score 104/5.
