CAB to kickoff season with T20 Challenge

The Cricket Association of Bengal in its Apex Council Meeting held at Eden Gardens today decided the following:
1) Bengal T20 Challenge would be organised from 2nd September 2021 tentatively. This edition would comprise of 6 CAB teams to be selected by the Selectors and would be used as a preparatory tournament ahead of the Domestic Season.
2) The Association intends to start the season early with J C Mukherjee Tournament from 3rd week of September (22nd onwards). Adequate practice facilities to the clubs would be provided before that. However, the exact dates would be finalised by the Association after interaction with the units.
3) 54 Players have been found having disputed documents after due verification. The cases have been referred to the Ombudsman.
4) CAB to set up a Modern Cricket Academy inclusive of a full size cricket ground inside the North Bengal University Campus.
5) District Tournaments would commence from end of October while women’s tournaments would tentatively start from November.
6) State Government has agreed to provide 14 acres of land in Dumurjala on 99 years lease, as requested by CAB. The Association to take steps for execution of Agreement.
7) Transfer of Players would commence from 1st of September 2021 and would continue till 15th of September 2021.
8) CAB expects to start One Day Tournaments in the month of November. If Covid Situation in the country remains under control, then in that event 1st and 2nd Division Leagues would be held from the month of December 2021.
