Dip Chatterjee's whirlwind century and Sougata Dutta's all-round show powered Calcutta Customs to a thumping 199-run victory against George Telegraph while Calcutta Police defeated Shambazar by 4 wickets thanks to Priyanshu Srivastava's patient ton in CAB first division One Day pre quarterfinal matches today.
Batting first Calcutta Customs amassed 449/3 as Dip smashed 118 not out off just 47 balls along with Subhankar Bal (81) and Sougata Dutta (88) half-centuries.
Wile defending Customs bundled out George for 250 runs at Eden Gardens as Sougata starred with the ball by taking 4 wickets while Bapi Manna, Uddipan Mukherjee picked up 3 wickets apiece while Priyanshu scored 138 off 130 balls for Calcutta Police.
In another first division match Abhishek Raman hit 76 off 71 deliveries as Bhowanipur beat Kidderpore Sporting.
In second division One Day pre quarterfinal matches Manish Kumar picked up a 5-wicket haul to help Victoria Sporting win, Shamim Modi bagged 4 wickets as WB Police were victorious.
Ballygunge Sporting also won their respective match thanks to Md Imtiaz Ali's fluent half-century while Young Bengal Sporting, Uttar Palli Milan Sangha and Cricket Club of Bhowanipur also won.
