Ranji recap in Vijay Hazare

24th February 2021
Finalists of Ranji trophy 2020 will lock horns again almost a year after in different circumstances as Bengal will be desperate to get back to winning ways while Saurshtra will aim for the top spot in Vijay Hazare trophy tomorrow at JU Second campus in Kolkata.
Bengal head coach Arun Lal said: "It's do or die situation for us right now, we need to win all the matches left. We are hoping that we play to our potential. We'll take decision on the final XI before the game tomorrow."
"The wicket became easy to bat in the last match in the second innings but if we bowl first our pacers will show their true potential," he added.
Anustup Majumder's men will be expecting their top order to amass more runs so that crossing 300-run mark could be an easier task for the all-rounders.
The silver lining in their defeat against Chandigarh was the lower order that showed off their batting skills well and hit some sixes too. Pacers Akash Deep (25*) and Mukesh Kumar (16) stiched 39 runs for the eighth wicket to help Bengal cross 250.
Bengal will once again rely highly on their three-legged pace attack led by Ishan Porel while Shahbaz Ahamad, Writtick Chatterjee and Arnab Nandi will surely aim to bag more opponents.
For Saurshtra Chirag Jani, A Vasavada, Snell Patel are doing well with the willow while Chetan Sakariya, D Jadeja have been consistent with the ball.
