Bengal face Chandigarh challenge

22nd February 2021
Bengal will be aiming to continue their winning momentum when they take on strong Chandigarh team at Eden Gardens tomorrow.
While Bengal registered a 70-run victory against Services, Chandigarh also defeated Haryana and with both teams touching the 300-run mark we can expect a high-scoring affair.
Bengal skipper Anustup Majumder said: "It can be a high-scoring affair. They (Chandigarh) finished well in the last match, we were watching them after our match. All are good teams here, we have to play tough cricket. It was a good team effort for us last day, everyone contributed. It was a good win to give us the much needed momentum. We are looking forward to the next games now."
"I would like to bowl first cause the ball moves well in the morning and our pacers can cause more problems," he added.
Bengal batters all contributed well including the all-rounders while the highlight of their innings was their skipper Anustup and youngster Kaif Ahmad as both scored fluent half-centuries while Manan Vohra started the tournament with a century for Chandigarh.
Shivam Bhambri and A Kaushik are also in good form with the bat for Chandigarh.
Bengal all-rounders Shahbaz Ahamad, Arnab Nandi and Writtick Chatterjee are performing well in their own roles and they can play big roles for their team.
In the bowling department Bengal pace attack led by Ishan Porel along with Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar bagged 2 wickets apiece and for Chandigarh Jagjit Singh, Gurinder Singh will be playing key roles.
