Local cricket resumes

Local cricket resumed today after a long haul of 334 days due to Corona Virus pandemic with 14 first and second division matches today.
Cricket Association of Bengal President Avishek Dalmiya, Secretary Snehasish Ganguly, Vice-President Naresh Ojha, Treasurer Debasish Ganguly, Jt. Secretary Debabrata Das formally got the games rolling with ceremonial tossing of silver coins for JC Mukherjee Trophy (1st Division) and NC Chatterjee Trophy (2nd Division) matches at Kalighat and Rajasthan grounds respectively.
While Md Sporting and Dalhousie Club locked horns in first division inaugural match, Shibpur Institute faced Central Calcutta Sporting in second division league opener.
Tournament committee chairman Nitish Ranjan Dutta; Tour, fixture and technical committee chairman Subhankar Ghosh Dastidar; Ground committee chairman Madan Ghosh and other CAB committee members were felicitated before the games by CAB President along with other office bearers.
The grounds were properly sanitized before the matches and strict Covid19 guidelines were given to all the players and clubs. During the game 5-minute Hygenic breaks are to be given after 10 overs for each side.
