Hyderabad defeated Odisha by 6 runs in Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament today at JU Second Campus ground to win their first match in the meet.
Put to bat first Hyderabad rode on Tilak Varma's 35-ball 44 and skipper Tanmay Agarwal's 34 to post a fighting 153/8 in their quota of 20 overs while Odisha could only score 147/4 to lose their second game in a row.
Odisha bolwers Suryakant Pradhan bagged 3 wickets while Ankit Yadav picked up 2 to restrict opponents.
While chasing Govinda Poddar's well-made 50 along with unbeaten knocks from skipper Subhrangshu Senapati (43*) and Rajesh Dhuper (30*) went in vain as Hyderabad bowlers kept it tight.
For Hyderabad C Milind and Ravi Teja picked up 2 wickets apiece.
