26th November 2020
Manoj Tiwary today underwent an MRI at Apollo Hospital through a green corridor provided for under Covid protocols.
Dr Sayantan Basu, who is in the bio-bubble in Novotel, on examining Tiwary prescribed an MRI on his left knee.
Accordingly, he was taken to Apollo in a dedicated car with driver and escort in PPE suits (all being part of bio bubble). At the hospital an exclusive sanitised entrance was provided for Tiwary and a green channel provided till the MRI room. Here his examination was done and he returned in the same manner.
"We are happy that we have been able to follow the bio secure sop in its letter and spirit. The bio bubble demands certain strict protocols and all of that was followed thanks to the cooperation of the hospital. Safety of our players is our prime concern and we are happy to have been able to live up to the bars set under the new normal way," said CAB President Avishek Dalmiya.
"It was a very different experience. It was hassle free and exclusive. It can't get better than this. I thank the CAB and the people at the bio bubble for taking such good care of me," said Manoj Tiwary.
Dr Asif Iqbal, Apollo hospitals, said: "Our responsibility was to make sure that the sanctity of the bio bubble was not broken at any stage. He was given an exclusive sanitised entrance and corridor to the examination room that was also sanitised before. His MRI was done and he left in the same secure manner."
"It is a historic day. Never before such arrangements could be made for our players. We are happy to have been able to successfully conduct the test in the green corridor," said Pradip Dey, Chairman, Medical Committee.
He will also undergo mandatory Covid test to be conducted by tournament health partner Suraksha Diagnostics.
