Captains excited about Bengal T20 Challenge

With only 48-hrs to go for the resumption of cricket at Eden Gardens with the inaugural edition of Bengal T20 Challenge the captains of the six teams sounded eager and excited to get back to the ground post the long haul due to COVID-19 pandemic.
In the words of Mohun Bagan skipper Anustup Majumder: “We all are pretty excited to get back to cricket again after such long time. Hats off to CAB for organizing such an exciting tournament amid this difficult situation, I thank them for their effort for the betterment of cricket & players.”
Bagan’s arch rival East Bengal skipper Arnab Nandi, reiterated the same saying: “Cricket is resuming after a long time and I am thankful to CAB for his initiative that made everything possible. We all wanted an exclusive T20 tournament for our state so that the players can be ready for other major tournaments and we are very happy. We are very eager to play again.”
“All the players are ready and excited to get back to the field and think it’s a great opportunity for everyone,” he added.
Shahbaz Ahamad, Tapan Memorial captain, expressed joy over the opportunity that the tournament is giving to the players: “Ahead of the domestic season this is great platform for the players to perform and open gates to greater opportunities. It will boost the players’ confidence before the season. I thank CAB for organizing this tournament and we all are very excited for resumption of cricket in Bengal.”
Kalighat Club skipper Subham Chatterjee sounded excited: “It’s unbelievable that CAB is doing everything possible to organize this tournament at this difficult time, I thankful to them. All the players are in good shape and ready to play.”
While Town Club skipper Avijit Singh thanked CAB for organizing this tournament in such short time by saying it’s an excellent effort by the association, Customs captain Sumanta Gupta said there are no words to express the happiness over returning to the game and thanked CAB president Avishek Dalmiya for his vision.
The six teams will compete inna league format from November 24-December 9 in the tournament which will be held in a strict bio-bubble.
