Mukesh's maiden six-for demolish Rajasthan at home

4th February 2020
Mukesh Kumar danced through Rajasthan batting lineup bagging maiden six-wicket haul to put Bengal in the driver's seat in a crucial Ranji Trophy Group A match played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium today.
The Bengal pacer who is in superb form this season took 6 wickets leaking just 62 runs after the visitors elected to field winning the toss and bowled opponents out for 241 runs before ending the day on 47/1.
Mukesh said after the match: "It was my first six-wicket haul for Bengal and I am feeling very happy. We are desperate to get seven points. Our planning was to bowl first if we win the toss, then take advantage of the first two hours and that’s exactly what happened."
"The wicket has become batting friendly. Our target will be to amass 400-plus runs and then bundle out the opponents again. Ball started to move after lunch and started to create problems for the batters," he added.
Mukesh gave Bengal early breakthrough by removing Y Kothari on 1 in the fifth over to reduce Rajasthan to 16/1 and after that Bengal bowlers kept on taking wickets in regular intervals.
Bengal coach Arun Lal also praised Mukesh by saying: "Mukesh bowled really well. He bowls some unplayable deliveries, he's a special bowler. If he can be a bit more tight then we'll have a devastating bowler. He has the ability to get a set batsman out."
"We want to get past them by tea tomorrow. Second day will be the best day to bat and we want to bat well.l obviously. First 10-12 overs will be crucial tomorrow and if our batters can survive, we plan to bat the whole day," he added.
M Lomor was the highest grosser amongst the hosts with a 91-ball 52 while A Gupta (33) added some crucial runs along with T Haq (27*) and A Khan (23) to post a decent total.
