Another rainy day at Eden make Bengal eyes frown
30th January 2020
Another Ranji Trophy final day another rain affected draw at Eden Gardens. Yes, that's the familiar scene we have been witnessing this year in the last two Ranji Trophy match Bengal played at home and today also it remained unchanged.
To add to Bengal's woes, this time from the drawn match against Delhi Bengal could only get 1 point.
Bengal skipper Manoj Tiwary said: "Three points slipped from our hands. We were at a good position here but now we have look at other's result. We need 12 points from next two games to qualify."
"We need to move on and look forward. We are in good form," added Manoj.
Before flying off to Jaipur Bengal's position remains unchanged in the points table at fifth with 20 matches in 6 matches.
Only 7 overs could played today with 6 overs after an early start and one over after getting halted after that.
However the game didn't resume after that as heavy rain lashed Eden Gardens for a duration of 10 minutes and turned it into a big lake.
Eden groundsmen did an applaudable job again to give the ground best possible shape enough for an hour of play but that couldn't happen cause of wet outfield.
Resuming the day on 217/7 Jonty Sidhu reamined unbeaten on 53 while Subodh Bhati scored 26 to end the game on 242/7.
