Bengal's scuffles with Rain God continues
29th January 2020
Once again Bengal's Ranji Trophy campaign got curtailed due to rain as only 9.3 overs could be played on the third day of their crucial Ranji Trophy encounter against Delhi at Eden Gardens today.
Earlier Bengal had to settle for forced two draws because of bad weather against Andhra and Gujarat which have affected Bengal's position in the points table.
Bengal ended the previous day in the driver's seat thanks to Shabaz Ahamad's late surge with wickets in last two deliveries of the day and pace trio asked Delhi batters all the uncomfortable questions.
Needing 126 runs to win Delhi had only 4 batters left and Mukesh Kumar welcomed them with his fiery bowling sending Anuj Rawat back without opening his account.
In a arguable no ball decision Jonty Sidhu survived a scare and ended the day being one run away from a half-century.
However the match was once again halted after an delayed start at 12:30 AM due to bad light.
After that the game didn't resume which is surely a bad news for both the teams as they share a very similar interest, which is three points- the best possible outcome from this match.
Delhi ended the day on 217/7 with Subodh Bhati accompanying Sidhu in front of Bengal bowlers.
