Confident Bengal go up against Delhi at home

26th January 2020
A Confident Bengal side will be keen to continue their winning momentum when they take on Delhi in a high-voltage Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match at Eden Gardens tomorrow.
The hosts will have their task cut out against Delhi who have stunned defending champions Vidarbha by six wickets in a thrilling 347-run chase with Nitish Rana smashing a 68-ball unbeaten 105 in their last game.
Bengal opted to fight on a green top with their pace duo Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar making life miserable for opponent's batters while Mohun Bagan pacer Nilkantha Das is likely to be added to the playing XI.
The Bengal pace duo scalped total 11 wickets in the last match.
Bengal will miss the service of their regular captain Abhimanyu Easwaran who is currently on India A assignment while Delhi will take the field without Ishant Sharma, who’s sidelined with an injury.
Veteran batsman Manoj Tiwary who is in terrific form this season and has smashed an unbeaten triple century in the last match against Hyderabad will be the stand-in captain in the absence of Easwaran.
The home side will be high on confidence as their batters perfomed extremely well to score over 600 runs in the last match while their all-rounder duo Shahbaz Ahamad and Arnab Nandi are shining in all departments.
Delhi will depend highly on their top order batters Nitish, Kunal Chandela, Hiten Dalal and skipper Dhruv Shorey against Bengal pacers on Eden Gardens wickets while Simarjeet Singh, Kulwant Khejrolia will be eager to shine with the ball.
