Bengal eager to win against Andhra at home

24th December 2019
Bengal will be eager to continue their winning streak when they take on Andhra Pradesh in their first home match of Ranji Trophy at Eden Gardens tomorrow.
The hosts will be boasted by their crushing 8-wicket victory against Kerala which came in just 3 days while Andhra also registered a commanding 9-wicket victory in their last match against Delhi.
Bengal coach Arun Lal said: "We have the belief that if we play to our potential we will win every match. I think spinners won't have much help from the wicket. We are not making any special plan for the opponents. We will play positive game."
There’s a possibility of four pacers taking the field for the hosts as expressed by coach Arun Lal as the Eden pitch will have very less to offer the spinners.
Akash Deep, Sudip Gharami made their way into the team while Pardipta Pramanik was dropped.
In that case leaving any one all-rounder among Shahbaz Ahamad and Arnab Nandi who won Bengal the Ranji opener will be a tough call for the team management.
Bengal batting department will rely on Abhishek Kumar Raman and Manoj Tiwary who shone with the willow in the last match while skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran, Sreevats Goswami, Sudip Chatterjee will be desperate to contribute.
On the other hand performances of Ishan Porel, Mukesh Kumar, Shahbaz, Arnab, Ashok Dinda will give Bengal added confident against the likes of Manish Golamaru, Hanuma Vihari and Ricky Bhui of Andhra.
K V Sasikanth, P Vijay Kumar and Stephen, who fared well in the last match will the ones to watch for in the visitors’ bowling department.
