Bengal face Vidarbha challenge

10th January 2020
A confident Bengal side will aim to clinch full points when they take on Vidarbha in Ranji Trophy at their home in Nagpur tomorrow.
Bengal who got off to a superb start to the season after thrashing Kerala at opponent's home had their last two home matches curtailed due to rain while Vidarbha also won only one till now.
Bengal skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran said: "Carrying the momentum forward is very important for us. We have played well in the first three games. It's all about the confidence and do our jobs well."
"The condition of the wicket looks good but it's a dry wicket and there will be scope for spinners. Toss shouldn't be a factor but spinners will certainly have a role play. We won't go with four pacers like the previous two matches," he added.
The visitors will be missing the service of their lethal pacer Ishan Porel and will go in with more spinners on a dry track tomorrow.
Bengal's other pacers Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar have impressed so far with their form while Shahbaz Ahamad, Arnab Nandi, Shreyan Chakroborty will be part of the spin attack.
In the batting department Abhishek Raman, skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran, Manoj Tiwary and Sreevats Goswami have been instrumental and will play key roles while facing a bowling attack led by Indian pacer Umesh Yadav, Gurbani and A Sarvate.
Youngster Ritwik Roy Chowdhury will be the one to watch out for after his impressive display against Gujarat in the last match.
On the other hand Vidarbha will also be desperate for a win with a good batting lineup led by Ganesh Satish, M Kale and experienced Wasim Jaffer.
