Bengal hammer Meghalaya

Bengal registered their second victory in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy by defeating Meghalaya by 55 runs today at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Bengal skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran smashed a fine 61 off 32 balls along with Vivek Singh's 39-ball 57 to help Bengal post a mammoth total of 207/4 in their quota of overs.
Bengal skipper said to CAB Media: "After the first match was washed out we won two matches in a row and we are in good form. We are well aware of the condition here now. Both batting and bowling unit are doing well. Our bowlers have bowled well in one day tournament as well and they are showing that confidence here too. Ishan Porel, Arnab Nandi, Akash Deep, Sayan Ghosh everyone is performing well."
"These two matches we won were easy ones but we got the momentum we needed. We want to continue this momentum in the upcoming matches," he added.
Earlier Sreevats Goswami (29) and Vivek put up a 79-run opening partnership to help Bengal get off to a good start.
While Sreevats, Easwaran and Vivek build up the primary foundation for a big score Manoj Tiwary smashed a quickfire 29-ball 49 to help Bengal get past 200-plus mark on the scoreboard.
While defending Ishan Porel gave Bengal early breakthrough by reducing opponents to 12/2 in just 2.5 overs.
After that Bengal bowlers lassoed Meghalaya batters to restrict them to 153/4. Arnab Nandi continued good form with the ball too by taking 2 wickets.
