Prayas bag 10 wickets in U16

Prayas Ray Burman‘s ten-wicket haul against Jharkhand handed Bengal a comfortable 50 runs victory in an under 16 Vijay Merchant Trophy at BSL Cricket Stadium in Bakaro today.
Chasing a target of 238, Jharkhand folded at 188 runs in their second inning.
Bagging six wickets in the first and four in the second innings, Prayas remained the highest wicket taker of the match.
With one match now remaining in the group league stage, Bengal is looking to before qualifying through the next round.
Bengal will get 6 points from the match, while Jharkhand will get nothing.
“I am very much satisfied with the performance of the team. They are doing really well. This match was low scoring, for the wicket was slow from the beginning. But the players did well to handle the situation. Prayas is a good bowler and he is bowling up to his caliber. But our seamers are also looking in a good shape,” said Coach Mainakh Sengupta.
On the other hand, in the Under 19 Cooch Behar Trophy, Bengal today beat Kerala by an inning and 92 runs, at Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, Kolkata. Chasing a trail of 248 in the second innings, Kerala folded at a paltry 156 runs in 74.5 overs.
From the match, Bengal will get 7 points, while Kerala will get nothing.
CAB Jt. Secretary Subir Ganguly praised the young cricketers of Bengal at their stellar performance, “The U-16 and U-19 cricketers are the future of Bengal cricket. So we feel happy when we see them playing so well. I wish them luck and hope they will go on to win both their respective tournaments.”
